Australia’s Cash Surplus/Deficit as % of GDP..
Before the Global Financial Crisis, Australia had a Cash Surplus averaging $10,226,900,000 each year between 1999 and 2008.
It varied between a Deficit of $3.25 Billion in 2002 and the highest surplus of $22.46 Billion in 2008.
This changed during the GFC, and hit a Cash Deficit of $52,276,000,000 in 2010. ($52.3 billion)
In 2012/2013 this was reduced to a Cash Deficit of $18.8 billion
