US President to be chosen on 14 Dec 2020..
On December 14, 2020 the final vote will be taken to choose the next President of the United States of America.
The electoral college is due to meet on that day to cast their votes for the president.
The electoral college is made up of 538 people who are the formal electors, and each elector represents one vote.
These formal electors normally vote for the presidential candidate that the people choose in their earlier election.
However, that is not always the case.
In 2016, for example, seven of the 538 electors cast ballots for someone other than their state’s popular vote winner.
If more than 269 of these electors vote for Joe Biden then he becomes the next President. However, if more than 269 vote for Donald Trump, then he remains as President.
