A Rust Remover Method

To clean the rust from rusted items, you can try the Vinegar or Ketchup method.

The requirements are:

• Soapy water.
• Vinegar or Ketchup.
• Plastic container.
• Baking soda.

The acid in the vinegar or ketchup will dissolve the oxide on the metal.

Step 1:

• Use soapy water to remove any grease from the surface of the metal to be cleaned.

Step 2: Option: Vinegar.

• Place the rusted item in the plastic container, and cover completely in vinegar.

Step 2: Option: Ketchup.

• Coat the rusted item in Ketchup.

Step 3:

• Leave to soak for about 5 hours.

Step 4:

• Place items in fresh water, with baking soda added, to neutralise the acid.

When using the vinegar method, you should see hydrogen bubbles from the rust being removed.
