Note: The 2006 figures shown above are the original 2006 figures, and not the revised ones used in the official 2009-2006 comparison report. The figures are only slightly different with the 10th decile being 622,000 instead of 617,00, as the largest difference.
The ILO website has a video where it interviews two people from each country, a bank employee and a factory worker. They state their monthly incomes as:
- 17,000 pesos for the Bank Employee. That is 204,000 pesos per year.
- 5,000 peso for the Factory Worker. That is 60,000 pesos per year.
It also stated that the average monthly salary was 8,280 peso per month, or 99,360 peso per year. With an average family income of 206,000 pesos, it seems that the average family has the equivelent of 2 people working full time.
International Wage Comparisons..
The International Labour Organization released its own figures of Average Earnings worldwide in 2012, and the Philippines is showing with an average INDIVIDUAL monthly income of $279 (about 11,000 peso). These figures work out at P132,000 per year, per WORKING INDIVIDUAL.
