The Countries that make up America
There are many countries that make up the American Continent, and as such, are part of America.
They are split between North America, Central America and South America.
Some say there are 23 Countries in North America, and 12 in South America, and have included those in Central America in with the North. This is based on “Central America being the southernmost part of North America on the Isthmus of Panama“.
Others say there are 16 Countries in North America, 12 in South America and 7 in Central America. This still leaves the Caribbean islands in North America in the normal definition.
