EU 27 – Commonwealth 54

The Commonwealth has 54 Countries,  the EU has 27..

From the 1st February 2020, the Commonwealth of Nations has exactly twice as many member countries as the European Union.

With the Maldives rejoining the Commonwealth, and bringing member numbers up from 53 to 54, and the UK leaving the EU,  and reducing the EU member countries from 28 to 27, the EU is now exactly half the size of the Commonwealth.

The population of the 54 Commonwealth member states exceeds two billion, about 30% of the world population.
