Jessica Mauboy: Been Waiting

Jessica Mauboy was born in Darwin, on the 4th August 1989 and has a Timorese Indonesian and Indigenous Australian heritage. Jessica first really appeared to the public in 2006, at the age of 16, when she auditioned for Australian Idol, and came runner up in the show.

After Australian Idol, she signed a recording contract with Sony Music and released her first live album, The Journey, in February 2007.

In November 2008 Jessica released her debut studio album, Been Waiting, which included her first number-one hit single: “Burn”.
