Person of Interest: TV series

The “Person of Interest” TV series can be effectively described by this statement made at the beginning of each episode.

You are being watched. The government has a secret system: a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I know because I built it. I designed the machine to detect acts of terror, but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people, people like you. Crimes the government considered irrelevant. They wouldn’t act, so I decided I would. But I needed a partner, someone with the skills to intervene. Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You’ll never find us, but victim or perpetrator, if your number’s up… we’ll find you.

Main characters

  • Harold Finch (Michael Emerson), a billionaire computer genius, who developed a machine that identifies people involved in future crime events, but without being able to specify if the person involved is the victim or the perpetrator.
  • John Reese (Jim Caviezel), ex U.S. Army Special Forces and CIA operative. Finch’s skilled partner.
  • Detective Jocelyn “Joss” Carter (Taraji P. Henson), an honest NYPD homicide detective.
  • Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman), a NYPD homicide detective with a corrupt backround.

Australian TV scheduling:

For anyone who has seen that some episodes are appearing in what appears to be a strange order, it appears that both series 1 and 2 have been showing during the same period, but overlapping.

For example: the next episode being shown on the TV guide is Series 1, Episode 23 “Firewall” on Ch 9. on Thursday, 10 Jan 2013.  [the date of writing this is 6th Jan 2013]

However, I have been watching Series 2 for some time here in Brisbane, eg:

    • Season 2 Episode 9, “C.O.D” aired on Channel 9, Thursday Dec 13 2013
    • Season 2 Episode 10, “Shadow Box” aired on Channel 9, Friday Dec 21 2013

Catchup Options on Channel 9 are at: http://catchup.ninemsn.com.au/personofinterest

One Episode that I watched was “S2E4: Triggerman”, but I missed the last bit, just as someone appeared to be picking up a bag of money, after all the shooting… I am still wondering who that was.  I will have to wait for it to come around again, maybe in a few weeks time, on Catchup 😉
