Youth unemployment has soared to 34.5 per cent in the Queensland Outback..
The latest breakdown of the July 2014 ABS data, collated by Queensland Treasury, shows Cairns has average youth unemployment of 20.4 per cent, while Ipswich has youth unemployment of 20.1 per cent.
In July 2013, youth unemployment in Ipswich was 11.7 per cent, while Cairns was 30.5 per cent and Queensland’s Outback had youth unemployment of 22.5 per cent.
In the past 12 months, youth unemployment has soared past 30.1 per cent in Ipswich and to 34.5 per cent in the Queensland Outback.
