Russian Wagner Loses 20,000 in Bakhmut.
The head of the Russian private army Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has acknowledged that Russian troops have killed civilians and has agreed with Western estimates that The Wagner group has lost more than 20,000 men in the battle for Bakhmut alone.
Prigozhin also said that Russia’s goal of “demilitarising” Ukraine had backfired because Kyiv’s military has now become stronger being supplied with weapons and training from many other countries around the world.
Russia’s largest state-run and pro-Kremlin media did not report this interview between Prigozhin and Konstantin Dolgov, a pro-Kremlin political strategist, making it unlikely that the Russian public will hear about his statements.
Moscow’s latest official figures for Russian troop losses are just over 6,000 having been killed.

Moscow had also often denied that Russian forces have been killing Ukrainian civilians, a statement that Prigozhin has also challenged, saying that they are killing Ukrainian civilians.
