About 600 Russians Migrate into Australia each Year..
The latest Census in 2011 recorded 18,278 Russian Federation-born people in Australia, an increase of 19 per cent from the 2006 Census.
That’s an average of 600 new Russian born in Australia each year, between 2006 and 2011.
The median age of the Russian Federation-born in 2011 was 42 years compared with 45 years for all overseas-born and 37 years for the total Australian population.
The majority of Russian Federation-born people reported their Ancestry as:
15,655 Russian
1,175 Jewish
342 Ukrainian
Russian Arrivals in Australia
54.4 per cent arrived in Australia prior to 2001
19.8 per cent arrived between 2001 and 2006
21.6 per cent arrived between 2007 and 2011
