6 Months BEFORE the Brexit Referendum the Unemployment rate was 5.1%
6 Months AFTER the Brexit Referendum the Unemployment rate was 4.6%
30 months AFTER the Brexit Referendum, the Unemployment rate is 3.9%
Alok Sharma, the Minister of State for Employment, said: “The UK jobs market continues to go from strength to strength, proving the underlying resilience of the British economy” and “EU workers accounted for 45 percent of the UK’s growth in employment between 2014 and 2016 but since the referendum they have made up just 5 percent.”
For the two years before the Brexit Referendum about half of the people taking the new jobs in the UK were EU citizens, since the Brexit Referendum, this has dropped to just one in ten.
The majority of UK jobs are now being taken by British Citizens.
