Is it wrong to expect them (the Politicians) to do so ?
Peter Garrett, the rock star turned politician, who, with all the other celebrities turned politicians in 2007, joined the ALP to outs the Liberals has announced his resignation and end his political career at the next election.
In an interview with news.com he has explained his version of what a politician should do.
You accept the fact that government policy won’t always reflect your specific personal viewpoint then you’ve got one of two choices:
You can either leave, or
You can be a responsible member of the cabinet (and follow orders)
He chose to be a follower and do as he was told.
But…
Why not a third choice ?
Vote with your mind on all bills and proposals, no matter what the personal consequence.
